❌ How Guests Cancel a Reservation

Guests can cancel their reservation themselves, without needing to call the restaurant. They use the link in their confirmation email.


How cancellation works

  1. The guest receives a confirmation email.
  2. The email contains a Cancel Reservation link.
  3. The guest clicks the link — a simple page opens.
  4. The guest sees their reservation details and a confirmation prompt.
  5. Guest confirms → reservation is cancelled, guest receives a cancellation confirmation email.

Cancellation limits

In settings you can set a minimum time before the reservation by which cancellation must be made:

  • If set to 24 hours → the guest can cancel up to 24 hours before the start
  • If set to 0 → the guest can cancel at any time
  • If the guest clicks the link too late, they'll see a message that cancellation is no longer possible

How to enable or disable this feature

In Reservation Settings, enable or disable Allow customer cancellation via email link.

  • Enabled — cancellation link is in the email, guest can use it
  • Disabled — no cancellation link in the email (guest must call or write)

Cancellation by your staff

You as manager or staff can cancel a reservation directly in the admin:

  1. Open the reservation details.
  2. Change status to Cancelled.
  3. Optionally enter a reason.
  4. Save → guest receives a cancellation email.
