🌐 How Guests Book Online

This section describes the entire online booking process from the guest's perspective.

Step by step: online reservation

1. Guest opens the booking page

The guest visits your restaurant's booking page (e.g. https://your-restaurant.com/book). The page works on any device — computer, tablet, or phone.

2. Selecting a service

The guest selects a reservation type from the list you set up in Services. For example:

  • Dinner (90 min)
  • Lunch (60 min)
  • Tasting Menu (120 min)

Each service shows its duration and price if applicable.

3. Choosing a date and time

The system shows a calendar with available slots. Slots that are full or outside opening hours are greyed out and cannot be selected.

4. Filling in reservation details

The guest fills in:

  • Number of guests (1–50, based on settings)
  • Table preference (indoor, outdoor/terrace, bar, private room, no preference)
  • Special occasion (birthday, anniversary, romantic dinner, business meeting, etc.)
  • Special requests (allergies, dietary restrictions, other wishes)

The guest fills in:

  • First and last name
  • Email address (required — for sending confirmation)
  • Phone (optional)
  • Consent to personal data processing (required — GDPR)
  • Optional: Marketing consent (receiving offers and promotions)

6. Submitting the reservation

The guest clicks Confirm Reservation. The system:

  1. Verifies availability of the selected slot
  2. Creates the reservation as Pending (or Confirmed, depending on your settings)
  3. Automatically assigns the best available table
  4. Sends the guest a confirmation email with details and a cancellation link

7. Confirmation email

The guest receives an email with:

  • Reservation summary (date, time, guests, service)
  • Link to cancel the reservation (if enabled)
  • Restaurant contact information

Deposit / Online payment (Pro or Max plan)

For some services, the restaurant may require a deposit. In that case, the guest is redirected to a payment page after submitting the form, where they pay the deposit online.
