📱 SMS Reminders

SMS reminders are text messages sent to the guest before their reservation. They are very effective because most people read SMS faster than email.
When is an SMS sent?
The SMS reminder is sent at the same time as the email reminder — typically 24 hours before the reservation. You can configure the timing in reservation settings.
SMS is only sent if the guest provided a phone number when booking.
SMS content
The SMS is short and to the point:
Reminder: Dinner on 15/04/2026 at 7:00 PM.

How to activate SMS reminders?
- Go to Reservations → Appointments Settings → Notifications.
- Add SMS to the active channels.
- Configure:
- SMS gateway API key — technical setting (usually configured by the platform administrator)
- Sender name — the name that appears to the recipient instead of a phone number (max. 11 characters, no accents)
Sender name
The sender name is the text that appears to the guest in their phone as the message sender. We recommend using a short restaurant name:
✅ Examples: RivaRestaurant, GoldenHarbor, Bistro123
❌ Avoid: accents, spaces, more than 11 characters
Tracking delivery
On each reservation detail page there is a Reminder sent field — showing the date and time the reminder was sent. If both SMS and email were sent, they are logged at the same time.
